Day 10 - Chilling in Sibinj

Monday 3rd July 2017

It is time for a rest day. We have found a little piece of paradise and we are ahead of our notional schedule. We are out of provisions so in the cool of the early morning we take a short ride into Senj and find a cafe just off the main square for coffee.

Our route tomorrow climbs up a series of hairpins (serpentina in the local language) to the top of the coastal mountain range.

We decide to take a ride up there for a looksee. It's a great road with a whole series of hairpins and wide sweeping corners. But there is a lot of traffic in the early morning, presumably commuters on their way to the motorway link road at the other side of the mountains.

Back along the coast to Sibinj

The view from the summit is spectacular. A chain of islands lies just off-shore. In the morning sunshine they appear very white against the deep blue of the Adriatic.

We bimble back down and stop at a local supermarket for supplies of food and drink. Well before noon we are back at the camp for more swimming and lazing around in the sunshine.
